I have over twenty-five years of experience in the field of mental health and substance abuse treatment, both in direct services and in program management, design and evaluation - and even longer if you count the foster children with special needs we always had in our home while I was growing up and the volunteer work I did as a teenager.
Both my bachelor's and master's degrees are in Social Work, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California (#22042). My bachelor's degree comes from the George Williams College of Aurora University, in Naperville, Illinois, and my master's degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
In addition, I have a Certificate in International/Intercultural Studies from George Williams College, and have attended numerous professional conferences and continuing education programs in the areas of mental health, addictions, HIV/AIDS, sexuality and spirituality.
I have worked in such varied settings as private practice, outpatient treatment facilities, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, community agencies, employee assistance programs and managed behavioral healthcare companies, and have experience with an incredibly diverse range of client populations and problems.
I have also served on several non-profit and government planning boards, and have managed a number of programs in the non-profit sector. In addition, I have facilitated personal growth trainings and published guest and relationship advice columns.
My school and work experiences have been broad and wide-ranging, but beyond that I have extensive life experience which I also consider critically important.
I trust that you or your agency could benefit from my expertise, and I look forward to providing you with the assistance that you require in order to achieve your goals.
